NitroJection is a patented nitrogen injection molding process that is easily adapted to any existing injection molding machine. Two controllers are available, the NitroJection Processing Unit and the NitroJection Satellite Unit. Each unit is designed to fill a specific gas-assist molding need. Each is available with one, two, or four nitrogen outlets and can be customized with a fast-acting pre-stage and hold valve.

item #'s 138543, 138544 and 138545

NitroJection Processing Unit (NPU)
The NitroJection Processing Unit is a stand-alone, portable, gas assist controller which intensifies and injects high pressure nitrogen into molds through either NitroJection’s patented gas-assist nozzles or In-Mold Pins. The NPU is available with one, two or four outlets. The NPU features seven stages of digitally controlled nitrogen injection pressures per outlet. The 8" color E-Z touch screen allows for operator input of timing, pressure profiles, and recipe storage. An Automation Direct Programmable Logic Controller ( PLC ) monitors and controls the unit. New features include auto purge, remote outputs and independent start signals to allow gas injection to multiple presses. The NPU includes an internal booster and a high pressure receiver. The system will intensify up to 10,000 psi maximum system pressure.

Operating Requirements:
  • Power- 110 vac
  • Air supply- 90 psi minimum
  • Nitrogen supply - 220 psi minimum up to 2050 psi maximum
  • Molding machine signal(s) - Mold Closed, Purge Guard, Injection / ram start- 24 vdc

NitroJection Satellite Unit (NSU)
The NitroJection Satellite Unit is specifically designed for gas-assist molders with an existing source of high pressure nitrogen. If the molder requires a means of high pressure, the Nitro Booster System can be used to operate from nitrogen cylinders.

The NSU without an internal intensifier is designed to control the timing and pressure profiles of the high pressure nitrogen during the gas injection cycle. The system requires an external source of high-pressure nitrogen up to 6000 PSI and appropriate connections to the molding machines. The NSU is available with one, two or four valves to allow gas injection through a machine nozzle or independently into multi cavity molds using an In Mold Gas Pin.

Standard Features
The NSU features fast acting TESCOM electronic regulators which accurately control the gas injection pressures. An Automation Direct industrial PLC and 8" color touch screen allow for easy operator input and monitoring of the gas assist process. Additional features include auto purge cycle, remote outputs and independent start signals to allow gas injection to multiple presses.

Operating Requirements:
  • 5000 psi minimum incoming nitrogen gas supply
  • 110V AC single phase
  • Optional electrical requirements are possible

item #132592
Nitrogen Booster System
The Nitro Booster System provides a compact, portable source for high pressure nitrogen gas required by gas assist injection molders. This air driven booster package is supplied fully assembled, tested and ready for turn key installation. The Nitrogen Booster is designed to receive regulated nitrogen (500 PSI min) from cylinders and intensify the pressure up to 6000 PSI. The final output pressure is controlled by an adjustable mechanical pressure switch. All that is required is plant air, 100 PSI and regulated nitrogen pressure.

Standard Features

  • Output pressure up to 6000 PSI
  • Pneumatically Driven Gas Booster - requires shop air 100 PSI & Nitrogen 240 PSI up to 2200 PSI.
  • Control Panel includes: Inlet Pressure, Outlet Pressure and Drive air pressure gauges.
  • Air and Nitrogen isolation valves, System vent valve.
