Most standard molds have a 29/32" dimension from base (platen surface) to slot. When using this type, the mold clamp is installed heel down with a regular-length hold down bolt and no adjusting bolt.

If the clamping flange is of 1/2" to 29/32" thickness, the clamp must be turned over and installed heel up; with the adjusting bolt installed from underneath the clamp.

With a mold flange height of 1-13/32" to 2", the clamp should again be used in the heel down position with the adjusting bolt underneath the clamp and an extra long hold down bolt used, to allow for holding power without the danger of stripping platen threads.
